Kotoba (Words)
Mao Abe
There’s something you were going to tell me today
You say “let’s do tomorrow” and put it off
The words I wanted you to tell me
I’m searching for them, unable to wipe away my loneliness
Please somehow understand the fleetingness of this moment
If you understood, you could certainly see these regrettable days
What I want to tell you is very simple
Live for today and show your true self
There are words we’ll regret not saying today
Tell me as if you don’t care if everything vanishes tomorrow
You wait for tomorrow like the same repetition of every day is something “obvious”
You’re overlooking that it’s not strange for people to die at any moment
Please take a hard look at the preciousness of life
If you could do that you could certainty realize there is nothing “obvious”
You say “even if we don’t say anything we’re still together”
with a laugh; I can’t nod in agreeance
There are things that, if not spoken, can’t be conveyed
Tell me as if you don’t care if everything vanishes tomorrow
Concealing your heart and excusing someone is not a beautiful thing
Isn’t that just running away?
There’s not one person that hates something conveyed with love
... I believe in that
What I want to tell you is very simple
Live for today and show your true self
There are words we’ll regret not saying today
Tell me as if you don’t care if everything vanishes tomorrow
