Sagashimono (What I've Been Searching For)
HUMBERT HUMBERT
I’ve been searching from long ago
I’ve been sincerely seeking it
Does it sparkle like treasure?
Or is it shrouded under the cover of night?
Yesterday I was in the west, today I’m in the east
I’ve been searching at random
In the shade of the dresser, and inside of the drawers
Everyone has searched for it
Time and time again they’ve searched
Where is the person I will love
Where do I have to search to happen across them
To the ocean of Shonan and the night of Shinjuku
Everyone has searched for it
Time and time again they’ve searched
I’ve gone to Osaka
And I’ve gone to Nagoya
In the south to Hakata
In the north up to Otaru
I’ve also paid money,
and given some presents
I worked and saved up
And then invested that money
But they’re nowhere
They’re nowhere to be found
Is my true love really out there?
Although I’ve been searching from long ago
Although I’ve been sincerely seeking it
“It’s fate”
“The red string of fate”
Although not being satisfied at all
I returned home with a sad feeling
At my home I hadn’t been to in so long
You were waiting
I finally found the person I will love
Oh my, you were beside me all along
